Moonshadow
I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night He's got to be strong and he's got to be fast And he's got to be fresh from the fight.
The black mare stole silently through the claiming lands, hoping to be seen and hoping to remain invisible. She was nervous, but who could blame her? She hardly had a penchant for social interactions. She didn't want to be claimed by some dark or a slavedriver. Finding a suitable spot, in the open but near a stand of trees in whose shadows she could retreat, Moonshadow settled and waited. Waiting for her hero- a stallion that could sweep her away to some peaceful meadow where she could live her life pacifically.
Fat chance of that. As a light, she failed the one facet that required lights to be optimistic. All her life, she had been kicked around, or forced to wander and fend for herself. She was a natural follower, and would rather happily obey orders from another than try and make her own decisions. Herd life appealed to her, because surely there'd be another mare who was better apt to fill the lead mare position.
I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light He's got to be sure and he's got to be soon And he's got to be larger than life.

Mystic Charm
The sun beat down onto the unforgiving earth that in the heat of the day still stood strong against the invisible forces that fought against it trying to bring bareness into the world of colour.
A dark figure emerged on the hillside facing down into the meadow the sun behind him showing only the dark outline of a powerful and strong bod, flags whipped against the brute as the breeze blew around him. front daggers raised from the ground and kicked out at an invisible barrier before they connected with the soil and carried the brute down to where the maidens waited.
Gentle pools of brown scanned the area as he passed before resting on one maiden by the tree line, bod pulled gracefully to a stop in front of the lovely dove, and cranium lowered to the ground with respect, flecks of white showed on his face now he was closser. Smile played across his maw as he stood tall and proud in front on the fem.
After a short moment maw parted and musical lyrics flowed easily from the brutes lips flowing over the dove and the lands,
"Greeting fair Maiden, I am Blessed Mystic Charm, May I know the Blessing of one as lovely and sweet as thyself?"
He questioned gently, flag flicked at a fly as it buzzed near him, muscles relaxed as he waited pon the lady to fill the lands with her sweet song.

Moonshadow
Moonshadow was watching alertly for a stallion, any stallion, for several hours now, and her viligance was beginning to decay. Just as she was thinking that she could come back another day, she saw a silhouette of a stallion breaking the flat horizon. The body was powerful and strong, and not unusually, Moonshadow was afraid. Black, big, and strong; the frequent stereotype for a dark. She tried to back deeper into the shady cloak of the trees, but the stallion was coming closer and had already spotted her. Every muscle tensed, ready to flee, if she could.
As the stallion came closer, Moonshadow realized that he wasn't truly as big as she had imagined when he was still a silhouette. She had seen him as a huge draft, but it was just her paranoid mind playing tricks on her once again. She chatised herself for always imagining the worst, but she knew it wouldn't do any good. That was just how she was. He was a lightly build Arabian, like herself, and the same shade of ebony. The only difference between them, besides the obvious gender difference, was that his muzzle was splashed with white, and she didn't have a speck of white interrupting her black coat.
Thankfully, the stallion acted like a genuine light, bowing deeply and speaking kind words with a musical voice. He was a little closer than she would have liked, but he had no idea of her paranoia, of course. She knew it would become apparent enough once she started to speak. She was just a timid, worrying mare, by nature and by how she was treated as a foal. She backed a small step, and returned with her own bow, leaving her head down respectfully and avoiding eye contact with the stallion.
It is nice to meet you, Mystic Charm, she said, her voice kind but barely audible. I am Moonshadow, and I thank you for the compliments you lavish upon myself. He was laying it on a bit thick, but not even Moonshadow could imagine him as a threat now.

Mystic Charm
Mystic Charm waited for long moments for the fem to speak, the silence was filled with the sounds of the meadow echoeing from the bird filled tree's, the animal filled woods, even when all was queit there was sounds to be heard, the rustle of the breeze through the leaves.
Studying her posture and the way she responded Mystic Charm soon realized she was a mare of ill trust, one who most likely has been misstreated most of her life, and did not trust easily at all, but his warm and welcoming smile did not faulter, hes stance was relaxed yet proud and he showed no sign of darkness.
At last she spoke but her lyrics though sweet and audible were soft and timid as she spoke to the ground, never lifting from the bow,
"There is no cause to look apon the ground fair Moonshadow, you hold as much right as anyone to hold your lovely cranium high and proud and look apon your kind"
lyrics came forth softly, Charm wasnt one to make maidens bow to his will they were equals and thus should be treated as such. In his mind there is no reason a maiden should not look apon who she wishes, no reason for her to bow to a stallion as she talks, it is her right to stand tall and proud as equines are ment to.

Moonshadow
She wasn't bowing out of utter respect, she was avoiding his eyes out of fear. In a world where the rest of life just wanted to kick you to pieces so that they'd feel better about themselves, she had learned that passiveness was true action and the only thing she could do was retreat into her shell and try to ride the storm out. It was the only thing she'd learned how to do, and it seemed acceptable in all situations. Now, the stallion was telling her otherwise. What was expected from her? Did they want her to lie low so they could beat her or expect her to stand for herself?
Look proud, he said, so she would. She was perfectly obedient; she never dared to disobey. It was because of this that she longed for herd life, so that others could bark out orders and worry about maintaining the herd while Moonshadow lived contentedly in a state peacefulness. She meekly raised her head slightly above her withers, but not extending it fully. She glanced at the stallion's chest and shoulders, and still avoiding his eyes, looking upon her fellows as he had ordered.
I'm sorry, she said, opening her mouth to say more, but the words evaporated before they left her voice box. I'm sorry, she repeated meekly. The stallion wasn't frightening, but he was only the second or third stallion she could remember talking to her, and the first couple had yelled continuous orders at her. She assumed that this stallion would want the same- for her to be his unconditional servant.

Mystic Charm
The fea seemed confused, acting almost instantly as if obeying an order, I frowned uncertain, something bad had happened in her past I thought to myself but what I wasnt sure. A fly buzzed past my ear in the heat of the day.Confusion struck me as she appologised, but for what.
"There is nothing to be sorry about miss Moonshadow, twas not an order."
I wished to ask her something but with her odd behavior I wondered if maybe it was too early to push it apon her. Finnaly I decided to ask, for if I didnt I wouldnt know would I.
"I wonder would you like to accompany to my home and live with my other mares and me?"
I asked trying as hard as I could to make sure it sounded like a question and not a demand I wanted her to come because she wanted to and not because she thought she had to
