The old barn was being hidden in the woods, the snow slid down it as someone slowed down. Snort escaped while dome tossed letting forelocks show the snow away. He walked into the dark opening, this was the only place shelter and warmth was best kept, and he hoped Ayame would come as well. Dome lowere lightly moving some dirt away from a warm spot. Raising his dome he walked forward to the exit. Lips parted calling for the Lady Ayame, the one warming him up slowly. Forelocks was tossed yet again when snow flakes started coming in jems of coal. She hadn't run away had she? No sigh was made, sudden sadness filled his frozen heart. He had already lost one a long time ago, would he loose one yet again? Tresses moved forward hiding jems of coal. He just hoped Ayame wouldn't ask too much again. It was getting harder to keep things from her, she was almost looking right through him

Ew! Already she could feel the chill under her pale coat, and already there was much more grey in her coat than snowy white. Yuck. Her ears were flat back. She hated the wet - snow was great when it was on the ground, but not when it was falling.
She followed Phantom quickly, hoping to reach their destination soon. It wouldn't take long for her to brighten up again, but in the meantime, she couldn't help being miserable.
"I really hate the wet!" she called up to Phantom, a slight note of complaint amongst the joke.
Then she spotted the barn Her eyes lit up, and she let out a joyous whinny. Shelter!!
She let the laughter bubble out of her, and she nudged Phantom playfully.
"Look! No more wet!" she laughed, her eyes bright.

Amusement was yet again filling his heart and soul, why did he feel like this? She made him do it but why? and for what? Diamonds moved slowly letting the damsel canter forward, he was never bothered by the snow at least not now. The entrance was soon filled with his presence, but dagger was shaken letting dropplets of snow fall of. The king gazed at Ayame yet again like he always did, his heart both dropped and jumped, but the frozen barrier stayed there. He didn't want to break the barrier, he would only get hurt once more. Dome moved looking out softly before he lay down upon heavens earth. Jems snapped gazing at her softly. "Aren't you going to lay down firery Ayame?"
Tunes where still soft, but his distance wasn't shown anymore. The barrier was set up in perfect manner, and jemsof coal showed warmth to her. What would the beautiful damsel do? Would she really want to know him as him? Or was she only wanting the home and shelter?[/blockquote]

As they entered the barn, Ayame couldn't resist giving herself a shake. Bits of half-melted snow sprayed everywhere, and she grinned sheepishly at Phantom. But at least they were out of the nasty wetness.
She watched him drop down onto the floor, and she realised with a start that she was pretty tired too. She had never had much stamina, and with all the emotional rollercoasters that were her daily dramas. she was aslways exhausted by the end of the day.
She listened to his deep voice, and she gave him a sleepy smile.
"To be honest, Phantom," she admitted, "I'm knackered."
She flopped down onto the floor, and reached her head out to rest it gently on Phantom's back. He made a good pillow. She stretched out her legs quickly before tucking them cozily underneath her dappled belly.
But she wasn't asleep. She was looking forward to grilling Phantom - she wanted to find out what was behind his barrier. Though she was tired, she wouldn't let this chance go to waste.
"So... " she started, "Who else is living around here?"

Zeniths flickered to her. Dome had dropped to ground around her belly softly. Hearing her words he couldn't help but smile inside. He wouldn't get passed her that easily. Thoughts twirled about the ones living here, and whom was it really? The thought came to Braveheart and heart dropped heavily. "I wont get passed you that easily would I Lady Ayame? There are three living here, or so I hope. One is a young steed named Braveheart, the second one should be another damsel named Brabell and then it is you."
He didn't dare to release the sadness by his son, and knew he needed to get her to fall asleep and that fast. Dome moved and lips touched her cheek nudging her softly. "You should sleep Ayame, your awfully exhausted and that isn't good for anyone." The steed gave her a sweet look before lowering his dome again, he wondered if she really buyed it to fall asleep.[/blockquote]

She let out another bright laugh as he spoke. Of course not. At the mention of the other two, Ayame was curious. Phantom's words seemed to linger over the young lieutenant, and her curiosity was sparked.
As he tried to fob her off with the sleeping excuse though, she hastily bit back the yawn she had been suppressing.
"I'm not tired!" she argued.
"And please, tell me more. What are they like?"
She watched him out of the corner of her eye, listening to his breathing and the low frequency sound of the blood in his arteries.

Zeniths flickered yet again and sigh escaped. She was giving him a hard time that was for sure. Dome lifted while body moved more comfortable. The steed looked at her with calm jems, what was she looking for in him? "You will see when your meeting them young Ayame. And even if you aren't tired, then why are you yawning all the time."
Soft emotions filled sparkling jems. He wouldn't let her break him down, it would take much more to do so. Dome lowered upon her spine and breath was keeping it's warmth with slow motions. Tears was pushing while he wondered why she didn't give up? Was she wanting to break him down so she couldn't have him under her? He started judging again, mind yelled inside as he let jems stay closed. He still hoped she would soon give up, life was getting harder for him to handle, and Bravehearts safety was getting more broken then ever.[/blockquote]

She felt him tense underneath her head, and she lifted it, giving him a searching look. He was worried about something, and she sensed it best not to push him any further on this topic. At least, not right now. Ayame's curiosity was insatiable.
"Alright then," she admitted. "I am a little tired."
She rested her head back down, feeling the warmth radiatig out from Phantom's skin.

He smiled and relaxed an hour before lifting his dome slowly. He looked at her and found out she had fallen in sleep. Hoping she wasn't a light sleeper dome moved underneath hers. Dome moved the damsels slowly upon the ground. He raised up softly and walked out silently. The snow had stopped dropping, and he felt it was time to walked out. A tear was shown as it held a crystal shine. Sigh escaped, he couldn't do anything to this feeling, his heart was breaking the barrier and the soul was helping. What was Ayame searching for? He could feel her jems on him when they where awake, but he also felt his heart fainting and heaving when they where together. She was no ordinary damsel, he knew that much, but why was she so curious? Did she want something special and then bail on him? Or was she just out to hurt him?

S w e e t D r e a m s
She was galloping through a sweet-scented meadow with Phantom, laughing and having fun. The sun was shining and her stomach was doing strange hops as she looked at his warm expression. But suddenly the sky darkened, Phantom faded, and snow began pouring out of the sky. No, not snow. Sleet.
"AHHHH!" she screamed
She woke up with a start, her breathing fast and eyes wide. It took her a moment to realise that she was no longer dreaming, and then she realised Phantom was gone. She let out a frantic whinny. Was her dream true? Had he abandoned her? Was this why he was so distant - that he had no real care for anyone?
She couldn't believe that of Phantom. The last dregs of the dream gone, she shook her head and let weak smile pass across her face. He wouldn't do that. She knew it, somehow. Intuition, call it.
She stretched out, and slowly, catlike, she rose to her feet. She gave a sharp sneeze, and then let out a giggle.
She hadn't quite figured out how she felt about the big, silent stallion. There was something he was hiding from her, and she had to know what. In her naiivete she could imaine no wrong, but it hurt her a little that he couldn't share. She cast this from her mind now, as she looked around for him.

Suddenly hearing her scream and whin at him the massive king turned. Snow coat cantered forward, talons moved faslty before he glided. Haling in front of the exit he trotted in, maw reached hers as he nudged her softly. "Ayame, are you allright? What happened M'Dear?"
He spoke with concern adn nudged her neck softly. Phantom felt bad for leaving her there she had been, but he had been in need to think. Dome lowered upon her spine calmly, his warm breath would tickle some while he gazed at her. His heart started to pound, the barrier was breaking. The pain shot through his body and he pulled back. Gaze was dropped to the ground, how could he face her when he acted like this? Life was hard and he knew, but hurting Ayame was worse then he had ever felt. [/blockquote]

A small smile flickered over her face as he entered, but it was wiped off by a sheepish grin as she saw the look of concern on his face.
"It was just a dream," she replied, feeling foolish.
As he touched her, she felt an electric shock run through her body, like a shiver, but a pleasant one. She looked ta him curiously, only to see him pull away, as though he'd been stung. Her eyes filled with hurt. Was she really that bad.
He wouldn't even meet her gaze now. She was certain he hid something important from her now, but she no longer believed she had any right to know of it. She was silly and foolish to think she would matter to him.
She tunred away from him, hiding that her eyes were filling with tears. Why did it hurt so much? Surely it didn't matter? But every emotion shook Ayame hard, and this was no exception. She tried hard not to sniff, but she couldn't help it. A single sob escaped her before she blinked away the tears.
"I'm fine. I hope I didn't disturb you."
She said, a little hint of frost in her voice.

Zeniths heard her sobb and dome moved. He hurt them both by not telling her, but would he really do it. The steed turned, his forehead touched hers while dark jems looked into hers. He could see her hurt look, and he knew now that the time was right. "Your breaking my barrier Ayame, only once has a maiden done that, she has left me with a son and a frozen heart. Now that heart is healed and you are the one stealing it."
He sighed and looked at her softly, his muzzle touched hers softly for the first time. No one had ever been this to him, and he hoped she would at least understand him better. Lips moved yet again releasing his tunes of soft music. "I lost a mare a long time ago, she was a dark chestnut mare. We were in love, but my twin found it out and killed her right in front of my eyes. Our son was growing up in another herd until he wanted to find his parents. Now he is here, and is still searching for me and his mother." Dome moved away from hers, but he was still looking at her wondering how she would react to this.[/blockquote]

Suddenly he was in front of her, so close that her vision swam. She could barely breathe, but she hardly noticed. Her chocolatey eyes widened as his words registered in the turmoil of her mind.
She.. she was stealing his heart? A blush tinged her pale cheeks. She could hardly believe it. But... a son? She thought quickly. That must be the Braveheart he had spoken of! She knew he had been keeping something from her!
The passion lit again in her eyes, coupled with righteous victory.
But when she heard what Phantom's brother had done to him, the light went out.
Killed her? In front of him? Her mouth fell open, her innocence barely able to comprehend the hatred and spite behind that one act. How...? She could not even imagine it. She looked away, her soul full of the hurt that Phantom must have felt. No wonder he had hidden away and become distant from the world.
The touch of his muzzle to hers sent that strange shiver across her skin again, like a cold flame. She took a sharp breath, and taking a long look at Phantom, she turned away from him.
She needed to think. And looking in his soul-searching eyes just made her head swim. He was too... compelling.
"He just... killed her? And your own son knows nothing of this? Perhaps fells unloved and betrayed by his parents? Why would anyone inflict such pain?"
Her voice got higher and higher, a note of anger setting her soul aflame. The injustice!
But her anger was not against anyone but the nameless, faceless Dark King, twin and oppposite to her beloved Phantom.
She turned back to him again, her eyes blazing bright with the force of her emotions.
"I see now what you meant when you said you had a war to fight."
She said, both love and hate, anger and sadness, sympathy and empathy flying one after the other across her face. A maelstrom of emotion - this was Ayame.
"It's enough to break your heart."
She said simply, putting all her strength of meaning into those six words.

Soft emotions was still shown while he looked at her. Her temper was so different until he decided it had been enough for her. Steps was easily taken to her side, Lips touched hers making her silent. "It's been enough emotions for one day M'Dear. You shouldn't push yourself too much. I've got you now, and thats a precious feeling for me."
For the first time a sweet and warm smile entered his lips. No one had made him smile, not after his first love was killed, now he stood there feeling a deeper love, with a maiden he knew he would never forget. His heart would never allow it, and neither would him[/blockquote]

[ma, sorry about the wait for this post... hope its worth it, lol]
Ayame's cheeks turned a deep rose as his lips met hers. But it served its purpose - she could no longer rant and rave. His owrds were soothing, and quieted her soul, although she was left with a knot of worry in her stomach. Though she was shocked - and secretly pleased - that he had bared his soul to her, she was worried he might reget it, and yet still decide against having her so close.
Her emotions were in trmoil, and she needed someone to lean on.
She nodded gently, acknowledging his words. It was nice to have someone calm and grounded by her side - she tended to get carried away by herself so easily. She reached out her soft lips to his shoulder, nibbling gently at his withers.
"I'm glad," she breathed quietly into his skin.
Shje wouldn't say it out loud - this might be the one thing in her life that she wouldn't - she had a feeling she was falling in love with him, too.

Her warm breath almost tickeled him, yet the steed stood calmly letting cranoum against her chest softly. He could hear her clear heartbeat, but didn't say anything, it was good to just feel everything and stay quiet. Talons moved lightly while wind blew softly. Everything seemed so perfect, but he know she was bothered by it. He just hoped he hadn't done anything wrong and would regret it.
