He'd always wanted a home by the ocean. Or rather, some large body of water, for even though it seemed like an ocean, it was really just an immense lake. It was freshwater, too. Lake-drawn breezes tumbled along the surface, stirring it up into a miniature of the wave crashing that oceans always took to. It was a while before the winds realized that this wasn't really their home, it wasn't really the ocean, it was just a sea-like lake; that the water pushing somehow had felt different, lighter, fresher; the wind left the moment is realized this, letting the ripples settle into stillness once more.
Joker grinned. I do that to people too, he mused. They always leave when they find out I'm not what I pretended to be. Gracious, caring, until they find out my devious plotting, which is when they give me a slap that's supposed to hurt and stalk away, always lagging a bit in thsi storming away stage because they want to believe that this was all a misunderstanding, they want to be believe that I'm not really this bad. They look back, which is when they find out I'm gone, and collapse into a heap of sobby weepy gelatin, broken by betrayal. Well, it's not like I'd given them a d.amn anyway; it's not my fault they didn't see what was coming. He gave a gleeful whoop as another breeze was tricked into the lake. Oh, so sly, so sly, he thought. Just like dear old me. He gave a wicked grin.
No, he isn't a dark; he could eb if he tried, but he finds the insults and this thing for blood and killing rather stupid. Domination was what they always wanted, they would get it using their giant-like strength and red-stained teeth, blah blah, could they get any more smooth-noggined? They were always the same, strong, muscely, with red-stained whatsits, handsome blue eyes, a will that defies the turning of the earth. It was so foolish, to waste strength on domination by force when you could do that and worse with less strength. By cunning. And then there was the fighting. The pointless, useless fighting, what with all the haughty brutes and the claims for killing. All for land that would lost again soon enough. And then there were the luxuries that the darks missed out on because they were too busy being tough and stupid; Joker would much rather live in a nice, quiant area, with all his comforts provided to him as needed, clean and without a long history of bloodshed.
He lifted his head and gave a loud, long howl of claimence. Nobody dare challenge me. This land is mine, will always be mine, it's mine, it's mine, it's mine, my lake, it's mine...
name×× The Devious Lake
desc×× There is a reason why it's called The Devious Lake. It is a lake. And it is a lake so big and wide and deep that it might seem to be an ocean if you didn't know better. In fact, it's so much like the ocean, it tricks the wind; the winds come and dance to its tune, until it realizes that it's really a lake, and not the ocean that it's looking for, making the lake as sly as its master. There is no human tampering done in this lake, so it is healthy, full to bursting with life, plant and animal alike, and on the shore, too. Sometimes little treasures like sand dollars wash up, even though it's not an ocean.
