The liver chesnut stallion moved like liquid alongside his new mare. She was to be the ruler of his home, and so the knot of anticipation in his stomach indicated that he hoped she apporved of his home.
There it was. The Cavern of Echoes. It was a huge cave, dug deep into the mountainside. Inside was fresh water, some grass and shrubs, and lots of private tunnels and halls. It was the perfect shelter for e herd, and perfect for the stallion who loved best to listen and learn - there was nothing private in a cavern that echoed and sang as well as his beloved home.
He looked back for Drift Away, hoping to see a favorable reaction to her new terra.

Champagne vix fluidly two-beated into the terr. Orbs eyed the earth, enjoying the tour. Auds flicked as sounds arose. A bird here and there, but mostly the plodding of hooves against the land.
Ahead of the pair a large cave loomed on the horizon. Small pistons moved faster, barely keeping from cantering. The cavern was dark, mysterious, and wonderful. The smooth stone seemed to beacon to her...she certainly was right to go with this stallion. Auds perked as distance narrowed.
It's amazing. She whispered, awe touching her lyrics. Indeed it was, very amazing indeed. Some light drew inside the first corridor, revealing is staggering size. Vix couldn't wait to enter and see more of her new home.

[man, been hectic... but am posting NOW! lol]
A smile drifted across his lips, a warm feeling in his stomach. She approved. It meant a lot to him, especially after the way he had put her on the spot so. But sometimes, it was important to go with your gut instincts, expecially when they were this sure.
"Well, my Lady, I can only say that I'm glad."
He said softly, his voice almost purring. It was thick and lustrous, full of righteous male pride. This was his defended home, after all.
He moved forward, trusting her to follow. Indeed, he longed for her to feel comfortable enough to lead, but for now he didn't mind.
His first step into the catchment of the cave could be heard echoing from deep inside. It was a welcoming sound - yes, he could tell the timbre of the choes. When the cave was welcoming, it was softer, rounder sound that emerged. When threatening or defensive, it was harsher, louder, higher picthed. To him, his cave was more than just his home.
There. The icy, underground stream emerged from the caverns here, and the water was as pure as melted snow. It was so chill it was like a pucnh to the gut, but it was a taste of freshness. And the strange flavour of the pale green grass was warm and lush, which heated up the chill that the water caused.
They spalshed through the stream to cross into the confines of the cave. It was cold around his delicate hooves, and slippery and treacherous, as though the stream where another living defense, but he kne wit too well, and emerged unscathed on the other side, in the shadows now, waiting for Drift.

(I'm finally posting! lol)
Fae followed closely after, eager to see her new home. Soft grass quickly turned to hardened stone. Lushious green turned to a cool grey. Even the light changed from a brilliant yellow to a deep strange orangish black. Every movement her talons made was announced to the deepest crests of the tunnels. Bodice tremored, chills of wonder and curiosity warming yet cooling the fem.
Eager to continue onward, femmora trotted through the shallow, freezing stream that blocked her path. Her new lord did not seem to mind the ferocity of the liquid much. Most likely because he had tread it often. She, however, was not fond of the cool fingers wrapping around her cannon. Goosebumps covered her hide. As she passed through the miniature river, front talon took a misstep. The sickening feeling of falling dug into the pit of her stomach, and before she could mutter a single word, she was drenched in the freezing water.
Stunned, bruja regained her footing, bumbling like an idiot. I'm sorry...didn't mean to slip...terribly sorry... Without thinking, she continued to appologize, for what she did not know. It wasn't her fault she slipped. Fem prayed her lead did not mind. Weight shifted again to her front hooves as she took a step. A dull pain shot through her cannon, but vixen ignored it. She had felt worse.
Now recovered from her ordeal, Drift caught up with the brute. Fae giggled, embarassed. That'll be one to remember. She sighed. What an idiot she was...she could barely walk ten feet without falling. Just perfect.

[sorry... I know I'm bad, lol... but I am trying very hard, even though I'm having a pretty tough time of it at the mo... no excuse though, lol]
He watched her move through the water, sure-footed and graceful. But then, almost in slow motion, he saw the current catch at her foot, pulling her towards the icy cold. He started to wards her, but in a moment she was on her feet, albeit dripping wet. He watche dher, wordlessly, for a moment, then let a bubble of laughter escape his lips.
"Wow. That was impressive."
He said with a twinkle in his eye. Thank god she hadn't seen him when he first founded his home - serveral dips into the stream had awakened alertness in him.
"Are you sure you're all right?"
He said, cautiously, keeping an eye on the leg she had fallen on. No matter how embarrassed or determined to regain composure she may be, he wasn't going to let her get past this until she was SURE she was alright.
For there was more treacherous footing in the dark, further in

An embarrassed giggle escaped fem's kissers. Auds flicked foreward, a few droplets of the crystaline liquid leaping from mahogany listeners.
Front piston, the uninjured one, stretched foreward. Bodice lowered in a gentle bow. Thank you, thank you. She smiled. Elegantly, dial flicked upwards. Champagne banner lipped at her nape.
I'm alright. She insisted. A mock-annoyed tone covered her lyrics, and she again giggled, dispite the slight pain in her cannon. A few confidant steps were taken, thick echoes riquochetting into the cave. A small break in the beat was made as she placed weight on the twisted ankle. Fem blushed, praying her lord wouldn't barrade her too much. She knew she deserved a little scolding.
Dial lowered a bit, ashamed. Surely there would be worse terrain deeper in the cavern. And she fell in a simple creek. What kind of equine was she, to not be able to hold her footing in such gentle water?
So...how deep does this cave go? She asked, struggling to change the subject. She was not one for small talk, usually, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Small talk had never gotten her very far in life...just wasted time. Especially with other mares. Females always wanted to chat, but all it did was make Drift forget what she was talking about, or start off with what she wanted and go completely off subject. Not very entertaining.
